There are a variety of Characters / Heros in Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire.

- Noctis Lucis Caelum - Heir to the Lucian throne, Noctis is a brooding hero who must stand firm in the face of ground-shaking challenges to his homeland. His royal training makes him balanced in all forms of combat.
- Prompto Argentum - Despite a painful past, Prompto keeps a smile on his face and tries his best for his friends. As quick at drawing his pistol as he is with snapping a pic, he specializes in city assault and attack.
- Lunafreya Nox Fleuret - The youngest Oracle in the Realm, Luna wields her trident to summon the gods. Noctis’ childhood friend and later his betrothed, she commits herself to protecting her people against the Starscourge plague. The former princess of Tenebrae calls upon her two dogs, Pryna and Umbra, to deliver messages between kingdoms. Luna specializes in Defense & Recovery and Mage Troops.
- Ignis Scientia - As Noctis’ loyal adviser, Ignis provides reasonable, resourceful, and reliable guidance. He is intelligent and talented with his cooking skills.
- Gladiolus Amicitia - The sword and shield behind the whole operation, Gladio is Noctis’ sworn protector. He guards his friends with his raw strength and uses his mastery of defensive strategies to shield your empire.
- Aranea Highwind - Imperial airborne division commodore Aranea Highwind demonstrates a mastery for Dragoon-style combat. The mercenary leader wields a magitek lance and deals quick, powerful strikes with aerial acrobatics. She specializes in Mercenary and Cavalry Troops.
- Ravus Nox Fleuret As an adult, Ravus is haunted by the past. He blames the Lucian royal family for the death of his mother and the loss of his country. His sister is the opposite, as she has faith in both, causing them to be at odds.
- Cindy Aurum - A handy mechanic at Hammerhead station, Cindy prides herself on her dedication to her work. She especially enjoys upgrading Noctis’ Regalia and befriending her favorite customers. Enthusiastic and upbeat, Cindy proves to be a valuable friend to Noctis and the gang by assisting them on their missions.
- Ardyn Izunia - Once prophesied to become the True King, Ardyn contracted the Starscourge plague in an effort to save his citizens. Now chancellor of the empire, Ardyn plots to destroy Noctis and the Lucian bloodline, so that he can reclaim the throne. Manipulative, calculating, and even a little flamboyant, he toys with his enemies, even going so far as to help Noctis -- whatever it takes to complete his vengeance on the gods
Unreleased Characters[ | ]
- Regis Lucis Caelum - As the king of Lucis, he is referred to as King Regis or Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII. He uses the Ring of the Lucii to channel the power of Insomnia's Crystal. With it, he maintains the Wall, which gradually drains his life-force. Regis thus feels ambivalent his son, Noctis Lucis Caelum, would have the same fate befall him.
